Prix Alioune Diop 2002 awarded to Benin publisher Ruisseaux d'Afrique

The Alioune Diop prize for African publishing for 2002 was awarded to Beninois publisher Ruisseaux d'Afrique at the Foire du livre de Dakar (FILDAK) in May 2002. The prize is named after the founder of the scholarly journal and publisher Présence Africaine created in the 1940s.

Ruisseaux d'Afrique is a children's literature publisher established in 1992 by Béatrice Gbado. It currently has about 30 titles of colour books, illustrated albums and other forms of children's literature. This include Les Maisons de chez nous, La Cuisine de grande mère, Molie au port de pêche and La Robe de Ninie.
