      In
        continuation of the Hans Zell Publishers imprint previously published
        under Bowker-Saur/Reed Reference Publishing (terminated in 1997), Hans
        Zell Publishing Consultants have developed a series of new information
        sources on African publishing and African studies, published, or about
        to be published, both in print editions and as Web-based online versions.
      Published February 2002
        The African Publishing Companion: A Resource Guide
        www.africanpublishingcompanion.com

        The most complete and up-to-date documentation resource on African publishing
        and the book trade currently available.
      Forthcoming May 2003
        The African Studies Companion: A Guide to Information Sources

        www.africanstudiescompanion.com

        A third, completely revised and substantially expanded edition of a popular
        reference resource, which builds on two previous editions of The African Studies Companion: A Resource
        Guide and Directory (2nd ed. Hans Zell Publishers, an imprint of Bowker-Saur, 1997). Both editions
        were awarded the prestigious “Outstanding Academic Book” designation by
        Choice editors for the years 1991 and 1997, which recognizes the best and most important reference and scholarly works
        reviewed by Choice, the publication of the Association of College and Research Libraries.

        Further new titles, for publication during the course of 2004/2005, will

      INASP (International Network
        for the Availability of Scientific Publications) is a co-operative network
        of partners. Its mission is to enhance the flow of information within
        and between countries, especially those with less developed systems of
        publication and dissemination. INASP was established in 1992 by the International
        Council for Science (ICSU), as a programme of the Committee for the Dissemination
        of Scientific Information (CDSI)/ICSU Press.
      Objectives:
        to map, support and strengthen existing activities promoting access to and dissemination
        of scientific and scholarly information and knowledge;

        - to identify, encourage and support new initiatives that will increase local
          publication and general access to quality scientific and scholarly literature;

        - to promote in-country capacity
          building in information production, organization, access and dissemination.

      Advised by an international Council, the Network is open to all interested organizations
